What price of Pyrroloquinoline Quinone Disodium Salt (PQQ)?

Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is redox cofactor. It is found in soil and foods such as kiwifruit, as well as human breast milk. Enzymes containing PQQ are called quinoproteins. Glucose dehydrogenase, one of the quinoproteins, is used as a glucose sensor. PQQ stimulates growth in bacteria.

It has been reported to be produced by Gram-negative, methanol-utilizing bacteria, such as strains of the genera Hyphomicrobium and Methylobacterium where PQQ is biosynthesized from l-tyrosine and l-glutamic acid precursors (Houck et al., 1988; van Kleef and Duine, 1988; Urakami et al., 1992).

PQQ advised dosage
Dietary supplements containing PQQ are available in the USA and Canada for use by healthy adults at a maximum intake level of 50 mg/day and 20 mg/day (Health Canada, 2016), respectively.
