Phosphatidic acid

Phosphatidic acid--by Soy-derived
What is Phosphatidic acid?

Phosphatidic acid (PA) is a diacyl-glycerophospholipid, in which two fatty acids and a phosphate group are covalently bonded to a glycerol molecule through ester linkages. PA can act as a signaling lipid, it is a precursor for the biosynthesis of other lipids, and it is a major constituent of cell membranes.

The food source of Phosphatidic Acid is soy lecithin, egg.

Efficacious doses: around 750 mg/day, is safe in young, healthy males.

Side Effects: PA is a safe product with no reported negative side effects to date

Formation and Works

Natural PA can be formed in three ways:

1. By phospholipase D (PLD), via the hydrolysis of the P-O bond of phosphatidylcholine (PC) to produce PA and choline.

2.By the phosphorylation of diacylglycerol (DAG) by DAG kinase (DAGK)

3.By the acylation of lysophosphatidic acid by lysoPA-acyltransferase (LPAAT)

Phosphatidic Acid Benefits

1.Muscle Building
Phosphatidic acid is responsible for muscle recovery following intense exercise. This is due to its ability to activate the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR). By supplementing PA, stay in the body a long time in the anabolic window, longer the body produces muscle cells while utilizing fat cells for energy.

2.High Bioavailability
In a study on humans, it was determined that phosphatidic acid has high oral bioavailability in humans and increases plasma phosphatidic acid levels effectively.

3.Enhance Fat Loss

4. Help reducing Stress

5.Increase Lean Mass Gains
In the study, this time using soy lecithin as the source for PA  showed marked improvements in reducing cortisol levels and no rise in heart rates. The supplement group ended off with significantly better lean body mass gains.
